Green and Gold Wall Art – Oversized Verdigris Patina Textured Look Canvas for Living Room

Verdigris spreads across the panel in flaking layers — sea green, oxidised teal, slate and bone — with gold leaf breaking through wherever the patina has lifted away. The surface is crusted and uneven, closer to a bronze door left outdoors for fifty years than to anything that was painted on purpose.

It is the only green in the range and the only piece here with a cool cast. That makes it the one to reach for when a room is already full of warm neutrals and needs something to push against them rather than agree with them — which is a harder thing to find than another beige abstract.

It sits well against sage, olive and stone, and it is strong enough to carry a wall on its own. We have photographed it above a sofa, above a bed, over a dining table, in an entryway and behind a desk, and leaned in close so you can see the gold coming through the flaking.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.
