Cream and Blue Wall Art – Oversized Layered Wave Textured Look Canvas for Living Room and Bedroom

Fine horizontal layers run the width of the canvas, built up in cream and bone plaster and dropping through a band of soft blue-grey about two thirds down, with gold caught along the ridges where the light would break. It reads as water seen from above, or as sediment, depending on how long you look at it.

This is the quietest thing we make and the hardest to photograph, because the whole piece is relief and a photograph flattens relief. What you are actually buying is a surface that changes through the day — raking morning light picks out every ridge, and by evening it settles into a single soft field.

Almost colourless, which is the point: it belongs in rooms built from materials rather than colours. We have photographed it in a living room, a bedroom, a dining room, an entryway and a spa bathroom, and leaned in close so the depth of the layers is visible.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.

Being square, it centres cleanly above a sofa, a bed, a console or a mantel where a wide piece would overhang the furniture beneath it.
