Gold Butterfly Wall Art – Oversized Cream and Ivory Textured Look Canvas for Bedroom and Living Room

A butterfly sits at the centre in beaten gold leaf, wings open, and everything around it is feathered — long ivory leaves fanning outward in thick ridges, each one worked so the light catches along its spine. Gold runs through the leaves in broken seams and gathers in flecks across the cream, heaviest at the centre and thinning as it reaches the edges.

Butterfly art usually goes one of two ways: literal and childish, or so abstracted that the butterfly disappears. This one keeps the shape readable while the surface does the work — at a distance you see a butterfly, up close you see feathers and gold leaf and very little else. We have photographed it in a living room, a bedroom, a dining room and a home office, and leaned in close so you can see the gold sitting proud of the surface.

It stays close to a true neutral despite all the gold, because the base is cream and bone rather than white. That is what lets it sit in a warm room without fighting the walls.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.

Being square, it centres cleanly above a sofa, a bed, a console or a mantel where a wide piece would overhang the furniture beneath it.
