Moon Wall Art – Oversized Cream and Grey Carved Stone Textured Look Canvas for Living Room

A pale moon sits in a band of smooth stone, and the whole surface around it has been broken open — grey and bone plaster cracked and lifted so the edges catch the light. The moon is not drawn or painted so much as left behind, the one calm place in a surface that is otherwise all fracture.

There is almost no colour in it, which is the point. It is built from the greys and creams of raw stone, so it behaves like a texture rather than a picture and will not argue with anything already in the room. We have photographed it against dark espresso walls, in a bright coastal room, in a pale japandi space, and leaned close so you can see how deep the breaks run.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.

At twice as wide as it is tall, it follows the horizontal line of whatever sits beneath it instead of fighting it — above a sofa, over a bed, along a hallway or behind a dining table.
