Beige and Gold Wall Art – Oversized Embossed Dot Textured Look Canvas for Bedroom and Living Room

A field of shallow oval domes pressed into pale plaster, row after row, each one holding a crescent of shadow along its lower edge. Gold leaf is scattered over the surface in flecks and gathers inside a few of the hollows, so the grid is regular but the light moving across it never is.

It is the most restrained thing in the range and the one people are most surprised by in person, because a photograph flattens it. What you are actually looking at is relief — the whole piece changes through the day as the sun moves across the room, and goes quiet again under lamplight.

Nearly colourless, so it belongs in rooms built out of materials rather than colours: oak, travertine, linen, lime plaster. We have photographed it in a living room, a bedroom, a dining room, an entryway and a kitchen, and leaned in close so the depth of the domes is visible.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.

Being square, it centres cleanly above a sofa, a bed, a console or a mantel where a wide piece would overhang the furniture beneath it.
