Coastal Wave Wall Art – Oversized White and Gold Breaking Surf Textured Look Canvas for Living Room

A wave breaks across the lower half of the canvas in thick white impasto — the foam built up so heavily it throws its own shadows — while behind it the sea runs out to a flat blue horizon in long combed strokes. Gold leaf runs through the surf where the light would catch on water, and the sand at the bottom edge is worked in warm cream.

Most coastal art is a photograph of a beach. This is the opposite problem solved properly: it is abstract enough to live in a room that is not a beach house, and literal enough that you know exactly what you are looking at from across a hallway.

It belongs anywhere there is good light. We have photographed it in a bright coastal living room, a serene blue bedroom, a warm white dining room, a spa bathroom and a shiplap entryway — and leaned in close so the depth of the foam is visible.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.

Being square, it centres cleanly above a sofa, a bed, a console or a mantel where a wide piece would overhang the furniture beneath it.
