Terracotta and Rose Wall Art – Oversized Gold Leaf Textured Look Canvas for Living Room

Layer on layer of clay, rust and dusty rose run horizontally across the canvas, the way weathered rock bands when it has been exposed for a long time. Gold leaf is pressed into two of the seams and scattered through a third, so the warm colour has something bright running through it instead of sitting flat.

This is the warmest piece in the range. Terracotta and rose are hard colours to buy because they can go sugary, and the reason this one does not is the rust and clay underneath them — it reads as earth rather than as pink. We have photographed it in a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a bedroom, because a warm neutral like this is one of the few things that works in all four.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.

At twice as wide as it is tall, it follows the horizontal line of whatever sits beneath it instead of fighting it — above a sofa, over a bed, along a hallway or behind a dining table.
