Abstract River Wall Art – Oversized Blue and Gold Sunset Textured Look Canvas for Living Room

A river winds out of deep navy and teal hills and catches the last of the light, running cream, gold and coral all the way to the front of the canvas. Above it the sky is doing what skies do for about ten minutes a day — peach going to apricot — and the water underneath holds the whole thing upside down. Gold runs along the ridgelines where the sun still reaches.

It is read as a landscape from a distance and as pure colour up close, which is why it carries a room without needing anything else on the wall. The navy anchors it, the coral keeps it warm, and both are already in most rooms somewhere — we have photographed it in a cream living room, above a bed, against a deep green dining room wall and leaned on the floor in the afternoon sun.

A note on the finish, so there are no surprises. The standard canvas is a printed reproduction with a sculpted, textured look — the surface itself is smooth. If you want texture you can actually feel, choose Hand Painted Textured Original on this page and an artist builds the piece by hand in oil on linen, with real raised paint. Hand Embellished sits between the two: real oil worked over the print by hand, so the brushwork stands slightly proud of the surface.

Being square, it centres cleanly above a sofa, a bed, a sideboard or a console where a wide piece would overhang the furniture beneath it, and it is equally happy leaned rather than hung.
